1. Inositol is beneficial for blood pressure regulation

Retinopathy of prematurity was described in the 1940s as omental fibroplasia. It is defined as a progressive disease that occurs only in premature infants with low birth weight and is characterized by the formation of fibrous tissue behind the lens, leading to blindness and severe visual impairment. Retinopathy of prematurity may be a window into postnatal development in preterm infants. It frequently occurs with other neonatal disorders such as neurological deficits, brain dysplasia, necrotizing enterocolitis, ventricular hemorrhage, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and is associated with other ocular problems.
A systematic literature review and meta-analysis found that, compared with a placebo, inositol supplementation did not significantly improve the incidence of severe retinopathy of prematurity, mortality, all stages of the disease, and other adverse events.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is a common hormonal abnormality disease in women of reproductive age, with a prevalence rate of about 7%.
